Fujitsu soldiers on with its Tablet PC lineup
Ever since Steve Jobs introduced the MacBook Air Tuesday at Macworld 2008, the whole Internet has been abuzz about the 3-pound notebook. Within hours, every sub-notebook from the past and present was compared to Apple's ultra-thin "halo" product.
Although Fujitsu doesn't have the massive advertising budget or sex appeal of Apple's line of products; the company recently introduced a tablet that is worthy of attention.
The new Fujitsu LifeBook P1620 makes use of a 1.2GHz ULV Core 2 Duo processor (U7600), 512MB of DDR2 memory (Micro-DIMM, upgradeable to 2GB) and an 8.9" WXGA touch screen display. Like the MacBook Air, the LifeBook P1620 has to make do with a 1.8”, 4,200 RPM HDD; albeit a 60GB unit.
Other features include an integrated fingerprint reader, two USB 2.0 ports, a PCMCIA slot, Secure Digital (SD) slot, 802.11a/b/g wireless, GbE, a docking connector and a 3-cell battery. With the included 3-cell battery, the LifeBook P1620 weighs just 2.2 pounds -- opting for the 6-cell unit will boost weight to a still manageable 2.5 pounds.
When it comes to operating systems, Fujitsu gives customers the choice of Windows Vista Business, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 or Windows XP Professional.
The Fujitsu LifeBook P1620 starts at $1,749 with 512MB of RAM and a 60GB HDD. Stepping up to 1GB of RAM, 60GB HDD and a 6-cell battery will set you back $2,094. Opting for the top of the line model with 1GB of RAM, 80GB HDD, Bluetooth and a 6-cell battery will cost you $2,224.

Dell Latitude XT Tablet Specs
Selasa, 23 Oktober 2007
LesDeLLiens.com unloads Latitude XT details
In late May, Dell announced to the world that it would bring a Tablet PC device to the market this fall. Dell showed a grainy video of its new Latitude XT in action, but failed to give any concrete details on the device. Some features were simply inferred from the video like the 12.1" display, built-in fingerprint reader and Windows Vista operating system.
Thankfully for us, LesDeLLiens.com has unloaded a wealth of information on the Latitude XT in addition to some high resolution imagery.
Consumers will be greeted with an ATI RS600ME northbridge and an SB600 southbridge. The GPU to be used will be an ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 with 256MB of HyperMemory which can be paired with either a traditional CCFL or LED-backlit 12.1" WXGA display.
LesDeLLiens.com says that the Latitude XT will come with an Ultra Low Voltage Core 2 Duo U7600 (1.2GHz) processor although other processor options are likely to be available. Up to 3GB of memory will be supported by the system.
Other features include Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 802.11n, docking port, three USB 2.0 ports and the option of 4, 6 or 9-cell batteries. One feature of the battery packs used on the Latitude XT is visible in the picture of the device’s underside – Dell has included a touch sensitive power meter into each battery pack. The meter should report battery status even when the device is turned off.
According to the site, Dell's first Tablet PC will launch on November 5.

The 12.1" LED-backlit WXGA device weighs just 3.5 pounds and features a slim 1.3" magnesium-alloy chassis design. The LCD features a bi-directional hinge design which allows the T2010 to be used in a traditional notebook configuration or as a "slate" tablet.
The T2010 can be equipped with either a Core 2 Duo ULV U7600 (1.2GHz) or U7500 (1.06GHz) processor while graphics duties are handled by the integrated Intel X3100 GPU. A maximum of 4GB of DDR2 memory is supported and 1GB of Intel Turbo Memory is optional.
Wireless connectivity is handled by the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN or an Atheros Super AG Wireless LAN adapter while a Bluetooth 2.0+EDR adapter is optional.
Fujitsu lists the battery life of the T2010 at nine hours with its standard 6-cell 5800mAh battery. That figure jumps to 11 hours with the optional 9-cell 8700mAh extended battery.
The Fujitsu LifeBook T2010 is available today at a starting price of $1,599.
